Jamie Heuton — Partner / Video Engineer / Digital Imaging Technician

Following a dream to create a company that fosters creativity and growth, Jamie helped form HDMG into something unique. Well-versed behind camera and in studio, Jamie is an invaluable resource for video technical wizardry. This knowledge comes from great passion; Jamie is constantly researching and applying the newest developments in the industry. For Medtronic he has technically directed projects ranging from surgeries to large company events. When he’s not busy shooting, editing or building stuff, you might see Jamie burning up the volleyball court or scuba diving (not at the same time).

Michael Guncheon — Partner / Editor / Compositor

Michael is a compositor in the most abstract sense — he combines images, people, equipment and ideas to create something new and interesting. The man behind our render farm, his unending quest to improve himself led HDMG into new directions ranging from new equipment to new ways of working. This pursuit extends into the voracity with which Michael attacks our daily Super-Quiz (his knowledge on varied topics rivals Asimov himself). For over a decade Michael has played an important role in Regis Corporation’s Educational Network. Editing hundreds of hours of instructional and promotional video, he maintained a consistent brand message and high quality standards for these award-winning programs. Additionally, Michael has worked with General Mills creating content for live events and the web. Michael’s role in the world of high definition spans the country. He is the technical editor and a columnist for HDVideoPro magazine–the premiere magazine for high definition media.

Greg Mattern — Partner / Editor / Compositor

Combining creative thought and technical know-how, Greg is the embodiment of the true “Renaissance Man”. His voracious interest in the latest techie-nerd gadgetry contributes greatly to the technological and creative growth at HDMG. From racecar-driving horses to exploding port-a-potties, Greg’s master compositing and effects skills are apparent in a diverse body of work ranging from commercials to independent film. Greg has worked extensively with Best Buy, including editing and compositing for their internal video newsletter, TAGtv. With one eye on maintaining our computer networks and the other on cooking his miraculous blackened chicken, Greg has just enough time to edit 80 hours a week.

John Gleim — Partner / DVD / Blu-ray / Compressionist

Master of all things DVD, John pushes the medium to its limits; whether it be multi-lingual, international formats, surround sound or interactive quizzes. Literally millions of DVDs have been replicated from HDMG masters. For Regis Corporation, John led the transition of their massive video education library from VHS to DVD. Other DVD projects include Prince: Live at the Aladdin Las Vegas, Better Life Media’s 11-disc self-help series, and extensive work for Best Buy and Medtronic. With a “golden eye” for compression, John has supplied HD content for Best Buy’s in-store displays. Additionally John is the go-to guy for delivering video for web, HD media servers and numerous portable devices. Although John would prefer to have an iPod surgically implanted into his nervous system, he has settled for the one in his suite, from which eclectic and sometimes annoying tunes can be heard. His cuddly cats keep him company outside the office.

Shari Brochhausen — Director / Editor

Shari has years of directing and editing experience working on commercials, independent films, documentaries and corporate video. Her dedication to the craft has brought about achievements such as cutting 20 spots in three days and operating a non-stop 48 hour edit session. As a Director her philosophy is “I want to give producers, more than they ask for. It’s my job to take their idea and bring it to life.” She produced special projects and partner shows for the ShopNBC Network. Shari also has extensive experience in direct response television. Currently Shari is engrossed in directing and editing for the national broadcast commercial campaign for Big Lots. Any spare time she can eke out is spent with her kids or on the golf course (although she’s had a little more success on the kid front). Sometimes she squeezes in a little sleepy-time too.

Angella Kassube - Designer / Art Director

Angella blends together color, creativity, and a little Dusty Springfield, and the result is some mighty neat work. Creating in both the worlds of graphic design and fine art, Angella draws inspiration from the nearby pond to YouTube. She has the uncanny ability to take a seed of an idea and grow it into a visual feast. Recently Angella worked with the State of Minnesota to create a funky, dynamic program to draw people and businesses to our state. Her experience in print design also shines in work on various DVD packaging, posters and t-shirts. Additionally, Angella is the co-creator of motionpoems.com, a site focused on combining animation with poetry. As curator of our HDMG Gallery, Angella has brought in exhibits ranging from photography to clocks to crop art to Star Wars figures. She once told Wynton Marsalis she loved him.

Kyle Franke - Motion Designer

Kyle is passion incarnate. He makes things move, he makes them pretty, and he tells a story. Whether he is doing motion design or on set as a visual effects supervisor or art director, Kyle knows how to cross that barrier from production to postproduction to get the best results out of each shot. He throws himself at things with every atom of his body, looking for new ways to solve problems through visual effects and motion media. Then after all of that problem-solving and throwing himself around, Kyle picks himself up, hops on his bike and spends time photographing the Twin Cities in all its splendor.

Carly Zuckweiler — Audio Design / Mix

Warning: The liner notes for The Sting Original Motion Picture Soundtrack may cause an irresistible desire to become an audio engineer. Well, at least that’s what happened to Carly before journeying into the world of drugged-out hippies and whiny rock star divas that is the music recording industry. Carly’s quest to smote “that sound that is out of tune” continues at HDMG as she steps closer and closer to aural nirvana.  Recording multiple languages for the Regis Education Network, mixing for numerous documentaries, and music selection, edit and mix for Best Buy projects, only begin to detail her skills. For several years, Carly has been recording, mixing and mastering for Best Buy Radio, the music program featured in all retail stores. When not doing the aural nirvana thing, Carly engages all senses in the nearest lake on her summer wakeboarding excursions.

Marci Meyocks — Scheduling/General Questions

After working for a number of recording studios, including Paisley Park as Studio Operations Manager, Marci decided to try out audio and video at HDMG. Her incredible attention to detail and organization is vital in a world of absent-minded operators, which is why we entrust with her our scheduling and tape library. Marci’s our compass, paddle and parachute; without her we’d be lost, floating downstream, and hurtling toward the ground at terminal velocity.

Mona Cifaldi — Accounts

She may not look it, but Mona’s our dealer. There’s no back alley, and she lacks a gold tooth, but her Thin Mints are to die for. Yep, she’s our Girl Scout Cookie dealer, and it’s a great leverage when we hear, “Send in your billing or no cookies for you!” Mona maintains the inner workings of HDMG and keeps us in line with a smile. Her dream to be Carol Merrill in Let’s Make a Deal dashed to bits, Mona worked in the insurance industry before finding her way here. She’s a converted Cheese Head Packer fan, but she’s ok.

Tobias Miller — First Contact

When Tobias calls for “Elliot,” he’s not finely tuning his monologue from E.T. Rather you will likely hear the pitter-patter of little doggie feet, as Tobias’ Boston Terrier pal comes running. Although Elliot is man’s best friend, Tobias will be your best friend as he facilitates complex shipping arrangements for your project or orders that favorite dish of yours for lunch. Tobias is also the mastermind of our fancy espresso machine, which keeps us suitably buzzed throughout the work day and into the wee hours.
